"Everybody Wants to Work"

'Cos Life Hurts is the 1985 debut album from Uncanny X-Men,produced by Rick Pinko Sims (aka Skyhooks' Red Symons). Fronted by the enigmatic Brian Mannix, he was comfortable wearing tight lycra pants, a furry sporan, bleached mullet and a bit of makeup. "Everybody Wants to Work" was the hit single in 1984. Early 1985 saw the X-Men doing support gigs for Rod Stewart. Their popularity exploded across Australia with the huge hit singles "50 Years","Still Waiting" and "Party".

Great to see a blog dedicated to great Australian artists of the 80s. Keep the posts coming.
Hope you don't mind that I've added a link to your blog from my own.
Cheers.

Saw Brian play last night in Melbourne. Still funny, cheeky and a great sound. The crowd has got just a wee bit older since festival hall!
And as flock of seagulls said, keep up the great work! Captain Fancypants of CDU - the band
